Award-winning country artist in Cincinnati next month
An artist who won the “Album of the Year” award from the Country Music Association (CMA) in 2024 is coming to Cincinnati.
Cody Johnson’s award-winning album is “Leather,” and he is on his Leather Deluxe Tour, with Drew Baldridge and Ashley McBryde opening for him.
CoJo, as he is known, was born in Texas and began playing music at age 12, taught by his father. He and his father, along with drummer Nathan Reedy, formed the Cody Johnson Band in 2006 and recorded two albums before his father left the group. CoJo released six albums himself, including “Gotta Be Me,” which opened at the No. 2 spot of the Billboard Country Albums chart.
In 2019, he released “Ain’t Nothin’ to It,” by which time he was signed to Warner Music Nashville. He released his second studio album, “Human: The Double Album,” on the same label in 2021. Then came the award-winning “Leather.” In addition, “Til You Can’t,” a single, won two CMA awards.
Artists like Willie Nelson and George Strait have influenced CoJo’s style, which experts call neo-traditionalist country and contemporary country, opinions echoed in a comment by MusicRow, which said the artist:
The concert is scheduled for February 22 at Cincinnati’s Heritage Bank Center. When they plan performances like this, organizers can promote them by using poster printing to create advertising.
