Cincinnati travelers will soon have another destination they can reach easily: Puerto Rico.
Allegiant Air is adding the Caribbean island to the flights it operates out of Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG). The route is from Cincinnati directly to Puerto Rico’s capital, San Juan, and is a non-stop flight that will operate once per week on a seasonal basis.
Allegiant’s chief operating officer, Jude Bricker, said the airline is happy to be able to offer Cincinnati travelers a non-stop, low-cost flight to the airline’s first destination in the Caribbean. He added that Allegiant has enjoyed a lot of success since entering the Cincinnati market, and is sure travelers will enjoy using Allegiant’s new service to get to San Juan, where they can enjoy the many attractions the city offers. Since Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory, it is not necessary to have a passport to visit the island.
Allegiant is based in Las Vegas, but has been expanding its operations at CVG. The carrier currently offers flights to 14 cities from Cincinnati, most of which are vacation destinations like New Orleans, various Florida cities, and Las Vegas. Allegiant does have another flight to San Juan, but it leaves from Orlando, Florida.
The service to San Juan starts December 17, 2016 and will end April 22, 2017. Companies such as these can benefit by working with brochure printers to create attractive Booklets describing new services.
