Superstar talent to play Cincinnati

One of the most innovative musicians performing today is coming to Cincinnati.

Gordon Sumner, known worldwide as “Sting,” has had a memorable international career as a singer, musician, actor, and songwriter. Fans likely became aware of him as the singer and bass player of The Police, the rock band that put hit after hit on the charts from 1977 until 1984. He wrote many of the band’s most popular songs, including “Every Breath You Take.”

He left The Police in 1985 to embark on a solo career, which has also been successful. His music includes elements of worldbeat, new-age, classical, reggae, jazz, and rock, and he has appeared with such artists as Peter Gabriel and Paul Simon.

Sting has sold over 100 million records, both with The Police and as a solo artist, and has received an Emmy, a Golden Globe, three Brit Awards, and four nominations for the Academy Award. He also has enjoyed a successful acting career, appearing in such projects as 1984’s film version of “Dune.”

Chance Emerson is appearing with Sting. Emerson is a descendant of Ralph Waldo Emerson, and grew up between Maine and Hong Kong, experiencing a childhood that resulted in his unique style of folk-rock. “House We Share,” from his album “Ginkgo,” (2023), has been streamed more than two million times.

The show is set for Wednesday, November 4 at the Andrew J. Brady Music Center. Exciting shows deserve exciting advertisements, which organizers can create using poster printing.
