Lez Zeppelin is an all-female tribute band that pays homage to Led Zeppelin, whose power and innovative talent seems to make them impossible to recreate accurately. However, Lez Zeppelin has replicated the original group so successfully that Jimmy Page, a member of the original group, saw their show and said:
“They played the Led Zeppelin music with an extraordinary sensuality and an energy and passion that highlighted their superb musicianship.”
Guitarist Steph Paynes founded Lez Zeppelin in 2004 in New York City, and is still leading the group, though the lineup has changed over the decades. They are the first all-female group to build a successful career as a tribute to Led Zeppelin. Their performances capture the spirit of their icons, recreating the incredible sound and complex arrangements exactly. They have toured around the world and have been featured on television networks including VH-1, FOX, MTV, CBS, ABC, CNN, and the BBC.
“Lez Zeppelin,” their first studio album, benefitted from being produced by Eddie Kramer, who also produced albums for Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix. Their next album, “Lez Zeppelin I” recreates the first album released by Led Zeppelin, 1969’s self-titled debut.
The tribute act will be at Ludlow Garage in Cincinnati on Saturday, January 3. Colorful Posters, which concert organizers can find at Print shops, are often of benefit to events like this.
