Golfing for charity in Centerville

A Centerville charitable organization is hosting a golfing event to support a good cause.

The Knights of Columbus (KofC) Council 14400 are planning to "Swing for Charities" located in the Miami Valley, and are partnering this year with the Alzheimer’s Association Miami Valley Chapter.

The day is full of activities, and takes place at the Golf Club at Yankee Trace, a championship course with 27 holes. The course has earned high praise over the years, including being named as one of the nation’s Top 50 municipal golf courses.

The tournament is a scramble, meaning that each member of a team hits the ball until everyone has teed off once. The group them moves to the location of the best shot, and goes around again. This format is easy and fun, and is often used in charity games.

After play is complete, a lunch is planned, and in the evening there will be a dinner and awards presentation, which requires a separate ticket. The BBQ dinner is an opportunity for families to meet and learn about the various charitable organizations in the Miami Valley. All proceeds from the tournament and the dinner go to charity.

The tournament is set for September 14 at 11:30 am, and Yankee Trace is on Yankee Street. Events such as this are perfect occasions for people to exchange Business Cards, as many have similar interests.
