Young professionals to be honored at Akron ceremony
The Greater Akron Chamber announced it has made its 2021 ‘30 for the Future’ selections from the 106 nominees submitted to it, and has an awards ceremony scheduled for early October.
On hand will be past recipients who, in addition to the 2021 recipients, will be recognized at the ceremony. Weather permitting, food stations will be available and networking opportunities will abound, so attendees will likely bring with them an ample supply of business cards.
The 30 for the Future awards started as a means to recognize young professionals of the Greater Akron area who either live or work here, and have had an impact on the region by means of engagement in the community or industry leadership. To be considered for the award nominees must be age 25-39.
Each year’s winners are picked by a selection committee that is comprised of community leaders, past award winners and Greater Akron Chamber members. Strategic Initiatives and Engagement Senior Vice President Brynn Allio Popa was quoted by Cleveland.com as saying:
The event is scheduled for 5:00 pm on October 7 at Canal Park. Tickets to the awards ceremony are $50 and can be obtained by visiting the Greater Akron Chamber website.
