RubberDucks to sell original stadium seats
The Canal Park Stadium's seating is being upgraded for the 2022 season, and the old seats carrying the 1997 inaugural season logo design of the Akron RubberDucks are now on sale.
The City of Akron, in conjunction with the Akron RubberDucks, is installing new seating in time for the Canal Park’s 25th anniversary in 2022. The seats that are now being sold were the original ones installed 25 years ago, and are estimated to have passed their “use by date” for fan comfort and safety, according to the team.
In a news release from Mayor Dan Horrigan’s office, the mayor said:
Among the many services provided by print shops, tickets for large and small events are printed to order.
The General Manager and COO of the RubberDucks, Jim Pfander, thanked the City of Akron as well as Mayor Horrigan in a news release for their ongoing support of Canal Park and the organization’s efforts to make the stadium an outstanding entertainment destination.
The original seats can be bought, or a holiday order placed, online via Stadium Seat Depot. Those wanting a chance to try out the newly installed seats will be happy to know that ticket packages for 2022 have gone on sale.
