What's Happening in Akron, OH…

Gala evening to grow educational programs

This may be the most important year yet for residents of Akron to enjoy an Evening in the Garden.

The annual gala fundraiser for the Beech Creek Botanical Garden and Nature Preserve is still set for this summer, after many of its spring and early summer programs and events were closed due to the coronavirus global pandemic.

Tickets are $60. A table of eight can be purchased for $420. Attendees get exclusive access to the gardens as the sun sets, including the plant conservatory and the butterfly gardens. There is food, adult beverages and live music. Proceeds go to the educational programs at Beach Creek Botanical Garden and Nature Preserve.

Beech Creek first opened in 1999, and has steadily grown in size and popularity in the region. Every year its educational programs attract thousands of students from schools in Akron and across Ohio. Nature camps and workshops about birds and plants are just some of the ways Beech Creek educational programs attempt to engage and inspire people of all ages to learn about and care for the environment.

Gala fundraising events often use print shops for signs, brochures, menus and programs.

Beech Creek Botanical Garden and Nature Preserve's annual Evening in the Garden event is scheduled for Thursday June 18, from 6 pm. to 9 p.m. Beech Creek is located at 11929 Beech Street NE, in Alliance, Ohio.
