Chamber to hold discussions with mayoral candidates
The Greater Akron Chamber of Commerce has announced a series of roundtable events with candidates for Mayor of Akron.
Open to the public, these events are designed to help ensure that members of the business community, voters, and the public at large are kept informed about the upcoming mayoral elections and the candidates who are seeking to run Akron.
At the time of writing, there are two candidates for Mayor – Shammas Malik and Tara Mosley. Two separate roundtable conversations will be held with each candidate. As such, these events are not being billed as a debate but a conversation where Chamber members and attendees will be given a chance to get to know both candidates. Both Malik and Mosley will have the opportunity to speak, then answer questions from members.
The event itself will be held on Thursday, April 6, from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm, and there will be an opportunity for mingling and networking, so attendees may wish to bring business cards and be prepared to get to know fellow Chamber members. The roundtable with Malik will be from 3:00 – 4:00 pm, and the roundtable with Mosley will be from 4:00 – 5:00 pm.
The event will be held at the Greater Akron Office, located at 388 S. Main Street. Registration is $15 for both discussions or $10 for just one.
