Chamber to help future-proof Akron businesses

The Greater Akron Chamber of Commerce has announced a major, all-day event designed to help member businesses stand their organizations in good stead by investing in managers.

The crux of the event is that far too many businesses fail to invest in their immediate supervisors and managers. In not doing so, they create an environment that decreases employee engagement and leads to retention challenges.

As such, this event – Heart to Heart Leadership – will teach members how to invest in their managers and create a long-lasting, sustainable workforce culture in which employees feel supported and valued, thus leading to long-term retention gains.

Specific content at this event includes:

• An overview of the latest trends, research, and data on how to create a positive workforce culture and the role of managers in that culture
• The specific roles of managers and how to can help managers grow into those roles
• Tools and action plans that all owners and managers can use

As always for Chamber events, there will be networking, and members are encouraged to bring business cards and discuss their challenges with other Chamber members.

The event is on Tuesday, May 23, from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. It is being held at the Akron Chamber office, which is located at 388 S. Main Street in Akron. The cost for Chamber members is $399, and $599 for non-members.
