What's Happening in Akron, OH…

Businesses move to make way for new Akron interchange

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has confirmed that it is reworking the interchange of Interstate 76/77 and South Main and South Broadway.

The project will begin construction in 2016, as authorities work to improve safety along one of the most dangerous stretches of highway in all of Summit County.

As a result of the project, companies and residents in that area have had to move. Among these is Advanced Computer Systems (ACS), owned by Jim Fuller. Fuller said that he will split his operation into two parts: a consulting, service, and sales location in downtown Akron, and a warehouse for his parts business, which he runs via the internet, in Medina.

Fuller will relocate from 800 South Broadway to the Everett Building, located at Market and Main Streets, in the city's downtown. Huntington Bank is located in the same building, though ACS's main entrance will be on Main Street.

He will be in the Everett Building at Main and Market streets, in the same building as Huntington Bank, though his street-level entrance will be on South Main. Fuller revealed he decided to remain in Akron because his customers are here and show loyalty to his business.

Fuller, and others affected by the construction, could work with stationery printers to create a new, attractive letterhead for their new location.
