Akron welcomes Fresh sounds
The pop band Fresh Beat Band is returning to Akron, where they sold out their show the last time they visited.
The band plays kid-friendly music, and the concert promises to be fun for the whole family. Their popularity comes from the eponymous TV show that ran on the Nickelodeon network for three seasons. The band comprises four actors who also dance, sing, and play instruments. Band members are Tara Perry who plays Marina, the group's drummer; Thomas Hobson, who plays a character named Shout, the keyboardist; and the DJ Twist, played by Jon Beavers.
The actress who played Kiki, Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer, noted that the band's concerts have sold out consistently, which was something of a surprise to everyone. She said that nobody knew what the reaction would be when the television show was transformed into the first live concert, but the reception was outstanding. Now, with many shows under her belt, she says she believes the reason for their popularity is the fact that parents and children can bond over the child's first concert experience.
The Fresh Beat Band is slated to appear at the Akron Civic Theater, at 6:30 pm on November 14. Civil theater management could work with a poster printing company to create colorful, fun display posters to place in windows throughout the downtown area, announcing the concert.
