Akron university raises funds for adult education programs
This March, the University of Akron in Ohio will be holding an annual fundraising event to support the Project Learn program.
Night of Illumination is a dinner held at the University of Akron-Quaker Station that will help raise funds for Project Learn. The Dean of Wayne College, Dr. Jarrod Tudor, will be hosting the event alongside other influential members of the college staff. Guests will be treated to dinner, beverages, and deserts while having the opportunity to participate in a silent auction. Any attendees who would like a vegan-friendly alternative meal must call the event staff in advance.
Project Learn of Summit County is an organization that assists adults with beneficial learning services. Adult students have access to services such as literacy classes, English for Speakers of Other Languages, and college preparation courses. The classes are offered for free throughout the year at locations around Summit County and have helped more than 22,500 adults since 1981.
The event will be held on March 9 in the evening from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Businesses that would like to be featured as a sponsor for the event can call 330-434-9461 for more information. All sponsors will have increased visibility for their companies during the event through the use of printing services. Tickets can be purchased online for $75, or at a reduced rate of $50 if registered as a young professional with the college.
