Akron theater to host free cult film screening

In late October, the Akron non-profit movie theater, The Nightlight, will partner with the city to host a free movie screening. The film of choice will be the popular cult classic, The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a horror musical comedy based on the stage musical. The plot follows a recently engaged couple, Brad Majors and Janet Weiss, as they travel to the home of their high school science teacher, Dr. Scott (who got the couple together), to announce their engagement. They get a flat tire along the way and are forced to get help from the occupants of a nearby spooky castle. As it turns out, the castle's owner, a Dr. Frank N Furter, is on the verge of completing his latest experiment. He invites Brad and Janet to stay for what ultimately becomes a wild night.

The free screening will take place behind the movie theater in the Maiden Lane parking lot. The city will provide a limited number of chairs for guests to use. For refreshments, visitors can purchase drinks from the nearby Baxter's Speakeasy and High St Hop House and bring them to the presentation. Guests are encouraged to dress warmly and bring blankets.

The show begins at 7:30 pm next Saturday, October 29, and the location of The Nightlight is 30 North High Street. Movie theaters like The Nightlight can benefit from using business card printing services to promote themselves.
