White Plains nonprofits to host awards evening

Nonprofit Westchester (NPW) is hosting its annual meeting and awards ceremony in White Plains this December.

The Keeping Westchester Thriving event will also include the graduation ceremony for NPW’s Emerging Leaders Program. This 11-month program is designed to help early and mid-career nonprofit professionals make connections, learn about the systemic issues local nonprofits work to improve and develop their leadership skills. Applications for the 2025 cohort are open now on NPW’s website and are due on December 13.

Westchester Library System Executive Director Terry Kirchner is receiving the Distinguished Service award, and Latino U College Access Founder Shirley Acevedo Buontempo is receiving the Individual Changemaker award. Volunteer New York! and New Era Creative Space are receiving organizational awards.

Tickets are available on NPW’s website now. The cost is $125 per person for NPW members and $175 for non-members. Special pricing is also available for the current Emerging Leaders class and program alumni. Businesses and nonprofits interested in supporting the event are invited to purchase ad space in a digital journal. Full-page ads cost $500 and half-page ads cost $250. Businesses often use graphic design experts to design their ads. Sponsorship packages are also available.

The Keep Westchester Thriving Awards and Annual Meeting will take place on Wednesday, December 4 from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm at Sonesta White Plains.
