White Plains Hospital is partnering with the organization Black Men in White Coats to host its 2nd Annual Youth Summit for students interested in careers in the healthcare field this fall.
The event will include hands-on activities and opportunities to meet with healthcare professionals from a wide variety of diverse backgrounds. Attendees will both learn practical information about these career paths and get motivation and inspiration from current professionals. Breakfast and lunch will also be served.
The summit is free, but space is limited, so participants need to register in advance through Eventbrite. The event is open to middle school and high school students of all races and genders. Students ages 13 and younger need to attend with a parent or other adult. Educators and community leaders who work with teenagers are also invited to attend. Free parking is available.
Black Men in White Coats was founded in 2013 to help address the decline in medical school applications from Black men. The group works with high schools, medical schools and practicing physicians to provide support and mentorship for students interested in applying to medical school in the future. Organizations often use brochure printing services to distribute information about their programs at this type of event.
The 2023 Youth Summit will take place on Saturday, November 4 from 8 am to 2 pm at the Westchester Marriott.
