Carole Alexis Ballet Theatre and Ballet des Amériques are performing their show Evenings of Dance in Westchester next month in White Plains.
Choreographer Carole Alexis studied with Maurice Béjart and now combines her classical ballet training with eclectic modern influences – including urban life, island rituals, and kids' games – to put together shows that appeal to both those new to ballet and longtime dance fans. Ballet des Amériques has performed almost 200 shows using Alexis’s style in the New York City area and abroad.
The Evenings of Dance series has been taking place in Westchester since 2015 in several venues, including the Emelin Theater and Tarrytown Music Hall. This year’s production will be set in the main floor gallery space in the ArtsWestchester building, a historic property that was previously home to the People’s National Bank and Trust. Ticket information is available on the Ballet des Amériques website.
ArtsWestchester provides support and grant funding to Ballet des Amériques, and the organization is also supported by the New York State Council on the Arts. Arts organizations often use brochure printing services to share information about their programs and supporters with event attendees.
Shows will take place on Friday, January 26 at 7:00 pm; Saturday, January 27 at 3:30 pm and 7:00 pm; and Sunday, January 28 at 3:00 pm at the ArtsWestchester Gallery in White Plains.
