Wappingers Falls runs and golfs for local charities
The Mommy Dash 5k and 10k Run/Walk will take place in mid-August, while the Putt Fore Action will be towards the end of September.
The former of the two events will benefit the Sparrow's Nest, a local organization that makes and delivers meals to families dealing with cancer. Participants may register at the event on race day from 7:00 am to 7:30 am. The half-mile Kid Fun Run will begin at 8:00 am, which will be followed by the 10k starting at 8:15 am and the 5k starting at 8:30 am.
The races will be professionally timed, and prizes will go to the top three places in the female and male competition, and to the top finishers in each age category.
The event will take place August 14th, on the Dutchess County Rail Trail, beginning at 3 Van Wyck Lane.
The Putt Fore Action Mini Golf Tournament will be raising funds for the Dutchess County Community Action Program, which connects families and individuals with opportunities and resources.
Teams can register for $45 and look forward to closest-to-the-pin and longest drive contests, individual and team low scores, and free munchies. The top three sponsorship levels include the company's logo design printed on golf score cards, tees, and hole signs.
