The Wappingers Historical Society will be hosting its annual The Spirit of Mesier Celebrates Magic Midsummer cocktail party in mid-June.
The party will honor local individuals who are making significant contributions to the community and to raise funds to continue the society's educational mission.
Honorees this year will be Dani Masterson for her work for veterans and Rosemary and Denny Evaul for their work with County Players, Masque and Mime, and Friends of Grinnell Library.
Simply Gourmet will supply cold and hot hors d'oeuvres, and Bryan Lammers will bring their Upbeat Music as entertainment for the event along with The Blend Band.
A silent auction will have 13 prizes to bid on. They will range from unique experiences and private tours to original artwork, dining, brewery and theater packages, and photo shoots.
All funds from the event will go to the society's education programs, preservation, restoration, and maintenance of grounds and historic structures including the Mesier Homestead, historical collections and archives and community heritage celebrations.
Tickets are $125 per guest, and guests are asked to come in cocktail attire.
Organizations that host events like this usually take the event information to local Print shops to be added to the event's monthly newsletters.
