Wappinger Falls farming community swaps seeds

Wappingers Falls Carnwath Community Farming and Alanna Facchin - a NY Master Naturalist expert- will be presenting their Third Annual Seed Swap toward the end of January.

All gardeners, families, beginners and friends are welcome to attend and to learn, chat, trade, eat and leave with seeds for this year's planting. Local experts from Verplank Garden Club, Cornell Master Gardeners, Obercreek Farm, Stony K*ll Farm and local 4-h clubs will be mingling with guests and answering any gardening questions. Snacks and pizza will be available for free. Many local seed companies and Carnwath Community Farms have graciously donated seeds so guests may or may not bring seeds to share as there will be plenty for everyone to take home.

Special guest will be miniaturist and artist Sergey Jivetin who will be presenting his Seed Stories project, Furrow. He will be engraving pictures suggested by guests' plant stories on seeds.

The event, food and seeds will be free but donations are always welcome.

Local gardeners or event organizers wishing to get more attention for gatherings like this occasionally get some flyer printing done at nearby Print shops and put Flyers up in their clubs, neighborhoods and workplaces.

This Third Annual Seed Swap will take place from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm, Thursday, January 22nd at the River Valley Arts Center, 9 S. Mesier Avenue.
