Wappingers Falls area farm offers two October events

Stony Kill Farm will be hosting a Harvest Fest at the beginning of October, and its Spooktacular event toward the end.

Harvest Fest will feature hayrides, crafts, livestock and barn tours, live music, homemade soups, kids' activities, and vendors. Verplanck Garden Club will be selling baked goods and artisans will be giving demonstrations.

Although admission will be free, $5 donations will go to programs in the Dutchess County community.

The 2025 Stony Kill Harvest Fest will take place Saturday, October 4 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, with a rain date of Sunday, October 5.

A few weeks later, Stony Kill will host its annual Spooktacular. The Halloween-themed evening will be a family-friendly event with haunted hayrides, a spooky garden, potion making, and a haunted barn.

Money from sponsorships will go to helping The Stony Kill Foundation's environmental conservation and small-scale agriculture programs. There are five basic sponsorship levels, starting at $250 and going up to $2,000. All come with logo recognition on the Foundation's webpage, recognition on e-news and social media, and 10’x10’ Harvest Fest vendor spaces. Other amenities at the higher levels include trucker hats, T-Shirts, shoutouts, and gift packs. Organizers such events need to get information from sponsors before any event banner printing gets underway.

Spooktacular will take place from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Saturday, October 25 at Stony Kill Farm, 79 Farmstead Lane.
