Wappingers Falls enjoys outdoor concerts

Sponsored by the Town of Wappinger Recreation Department, local bands will be giving outdoor concerts in the park in July.

Everyone is invited to bring their lawn chairs and blankets and find grassy spots in front of the park's new stage. Admission will be free.

July performances will begin with Hillbilly Parade presenting line dancing to top 40 country hits on the 10th.

On Thursday, July 17th, the series will feature the Osborne Hill Band. That evening, guests will be treated to classic rock cover songs.

A week later, The Southern Dutchess Concert Band, composed of 75 percussions, brass, and woodwind musicians from the Southern Dutchess County area will be playing popular standards, show tunes, light classical, marches and wind ensemble pieces. Some highlights will include "The Washington Post March", Frank Sinatra's Greatest hits, and a tribute to trumpeter Maynard Ferguson. The Southern Dutchess Concert Band performance will take place Thursday, July 24th.

Tim Haufe will end the July concerts on the 31st. He is a songwriter and composer who bring a touch of folk, blues, jazz and rock as he sings his original music.

Bands and music artists like these often go to Print shops early in their careers to have shop artists create either a graphic design or a Logo Design that they can have printed on fan merchandise.

The concerts will take place at Schlathaus Park, 126 All Angels Hill Road starting at 7:00 pm.
