Wappingers Falls airport to host music festival
Wappingers Falls music fans are invited to an event that will showcase local talent.
The Speed of Sound Festival held its inaugural year in 2015 to celebrate the 35th year of Radio Woodstock, and proved to be very popular. This year, it will include performances by Fiction Of The Future, The Lumineers, Rayland Baxter, Nicole Atkins, and Swear and Shake. There will also be displays by area artisans, vendors selling farm to table food and activities to help keep the kids entertained.
This aviation themed festival will take place at Wappingers Falls’ Dutchess County Airport, which is located just outside of Poughkeepsie and 75 miles away from New York City. To help those who plan on taking the train, the event’s organizers will be offering free shuttle service to and from New Hamburg Train Station, and there are both camping and other lodging options available.
People of all ages are welcome to attend, as there will be something for everyone. They are reminded to bring along folding chairs and blankets to sit on while they enjoy the music. Custom drinkware that includes the function’s name and logo can be designed specifically for events such as this.
