It's hard to believe but our Town of Wappinger Falls is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year and will be holding a Wappinger 150 Community Day coming in early May.
A festival and parade will commemorate the town's history, cultural heritage and community spirit.
A parade will be lining up entries starting at 11:00 am and stepping off at noon. Spectators that wish to help commemorate occasions such as this often go to local Print shops and have banner printing done so they can wave Banners to show support as floats, bands, color guards, drum corps, and other marching units pass by.
The celebration will continue with live music, games and activities at the festivities after the parade in Brexel-Schlathaus Park. Local charity organizations will be passing out information about their missions, programs, hours of operation and locations. Local businesses will be manning booths and vending merchandise and services.
The festivities will include the new live performance stage grand opening and ribbon cutting, after which local bands will perform live during the rest of the afternoon.
Towns like Wappinger Falls that are celebrating special events like this often go to local Print shops to get help with town logo and/or graphic design and then have the design printed on merchandise such as promotional Pens, polo shirts, hoodies, Mugs, Postcards, sweatshirts, wine glasses and T-Shirts.
Wappinger 150 Community Day will take place on May 17th at Brexel-Schlathaus Park, 126 All Angels Hill Road.
