Park holds fitness and field day
Dutchess County Department of Behavioral & Community Health will be conducting its third Think Differently Fitness & Field Day – a day of summer fun – in a couple of weeks. All abilities and ages are welcome.
All Wappingers Falls participants will receive medals and free bagged lunch picnics. Those interested are asked to RSVP as soon as possible.
Other experiences will include a scavenger hunt, arts and crafts, travel training, live animals, local sports programs, and yard games. Guests will be invited to view the Dutchess County Dept. of Behavioral and Community Health's Health RV.
Attendees may get Information about local services, agencies, and community involvement from organizations with members on hand answering questions and distributing business cards and flyers containing hours of operation, mission statements, and addresses.
Interactive vendors, attractions, and activities will be stressing health and nutrition items. However, if last year is anything to go by, everyone can also enjoy goodies from the Anderson Center for Autism’s Ice Cream Truck.
Dutchess County’s “ThinkDifferently” is an initiative calling for action to include and support local individuals of all abilities.
Guests are invited to stick around after the event to enjoy the Park’s amenities, such as the splash pad.
Think Differently Fitness and Field Day will take place from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 29 at Bowdoin Park’s lower-level fields, 85 Sheafe Road. Admission will be free, and the event will take place rain or shine.
