A park has opened in Spring Valley with a new playground that may be of interest to children in nearby Nanuet.
Kenndey Park is on Old Nyack Turnpike and has been renovated. It has a colorful playground with mew equipment that includes large slides and swings and climbing areas, a gazebo with picnic tables, benches, and rest rooms. The park is geared for children between 2 and 12 years old and is ADA accessible.
Such parks can benefit from brochure printing which can provide more details about the special features and amenities of such new parks.
Funds in the amount of $200,000 were approved for the project through the Rockland Resilient Recreation Grant program. This program awards non-profit organizations and municipalities between $5,000 and $200,000 for investments in public green spaces in urban areas.
Yisroel Eisenbach, Deputy Mayor of Spring Valley, expressed his enthusiasm for the park as it provides outdoor recreation and promotes the well-being of the community. He added that it is convenient for close to 200 families who live in the area who now have a park where they can bring their children for outdoor activities.
Aron Wieder, a legislator from Rockland County, said that parks are places that improve the quality of life and the desirability of neighborhoods. He added that this part of Spring Valley now has a vibrant space.
