Nanuet residents will no doubt be interested to hear nearby Nyack will hold a two-day celebration to honor the 250th anniversary of the United States next month.
A Classic Car Cruise will kick off the festivities at 6:00 p.m. There will be an impressive selection of vehicles made in America as well as live entertainment during the evening. Local restaurants will be serving up their unique cuisine outdoors for people to grab a bite to eat. At 9:00 p.m. there will be a special move night outdoors featuring “CARS.” These activities will be on Thursday July 2.
The next day the top field at Memorial Park will be hosting a Kids Freedom Zone featuring an experience that will be filled with fun for children of all ages. There will be popcorn, games, ice pop, cotton candy, inflatable attractions, and face painting at no charge.
Veterans-Easter Memorial Square on Main Street will be hosting a civic program from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. with a reading of the declaration of Independence. The 2026-time capsule will be unveiled, and awards will be given to the student winners of the patriotic essay and art contests. The Swingtime Band will start performing at 7:00 p.m. followed by a fireworks display beginning at 9:15 p.m., expected to be the highlight of the celebration.
Such special celebrations can be promoted throughout a town and neighboring communities with poster printing.
