The Advancing Success in Associate Pathways (ASAP) of Rockland Community College (RCC) in Suffern will be expanding.
This is a student retention and completion program of the State University of New York (SUNY) that is recognized across the country. The expansion of the program will increase the number of students receiving important financial and academic support by 100 percent, from 150 to 300 students, so that more students can complete their degrees on time. This may be of interest to potential and current students in nearby Nanuet who may be in or interested in participating in this program.
Associate degree students in ASAP are provided with a comprehensive network of support services that help to remove barriers to completion of degrees. Costs such as groceries, transportation, and textbooks are covered by the program in addition to personalized tutoring, career development services, and academic advising.
Such programs often benefit from brochure printing to provide more details on their wide range of support services for students.
SUNY is expanding ASAP across the state. By this fall, it will serve a total of 10,000 students and 44 SUNY campuses, of which RCC is a part. The fiscal year 2026-2027 enacted state budget includes an additional $8 million in funding for this expansion, such that the total amount invested in ASAP each year is $20 million.
