Big Red Books on Nyack will be hosting several events that may be of interest to those in nearby Nanuet.
Poster printing can be used to promote such events throughout a town and neighboring communities.
The first will be a Meet and Greet with author Dawn Barclay. Barclay has been writing for many years about travel, beginning as a travel trade journalist and later as an author of Books. The Society of Professional Journalists gave her the First Prize-Other Writing award for a story on travel law. This event will be from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 28.
This will be followed by Storytime with David Sherrin, an author of children’s Books. Sherrin teaches at Scarsdale High School. He has written four picture Books and enjoys writing, teaching, and playing tennis. This event will be from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm on Sunday, March 1.
The last event will be a book launch of “The Subtlety of the Street” by Perry Balmer. Dr. Balmer is Professor of Linguistics and Academic Literacy at CUNY. This book examines the profound impact of ordinary, everyday language, revealing how subtle and often imperceptible Forms of racism infiltrate routine conversations between institutional professionals, such as teachers and social workers, and the individuals they serve.
