The Merrick Library is hosting the largest Touch-A-Truck event on Long Island. The vehicles will be found in the parking lot of The Parish Family of Curé of Ars, a Catholic church; and in the library’s Narwood Avenue parking lot.
More than 50 vehicles are scheduled to take part, giving children of all ages a chance to examine the vehicles that support the community. These include public works vehicles as well as police and fire department equipment. People will also have a chance to talk to the people who operate these live-saving machines.
In addition to learning about police cars and garbage trucks, attendees will enjoy treats from local food trucks, raffle prizes, and live music. In addition, the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine, KJOY, Lightning McQueen, and Mr. Met will be on hand.
The Mystery Machine is the van that is used when Scooby Doo and the gang go on their adventures, and Lightning McQueen is the protagonist of the Pixar Studios “Cars” film franchise. Mr. Met is the New York Mets’ official mascot. Now a person in a costume, he was originally a cartoon, and KJOY is a local radio station. The array of guests promises to make the day even more fun.
The Touch-A-Truck event is scheduled for October 3 from 10.00 am until 1.00 pm and is family-friendly. When they plan outdoor events like this, organizers can work with banner printing to create suitable fun decorations.
