Free concerts light up August in Merrick area

There are events planned in and around Merrick to enhance the long summer evenings. All performances except one begin at 8.00 pm.

In Merrick, there is a Doo-Wop Concert Under the Stars at Merrick Road Park, at 7.00 pm. Another concert at the same venue will bring Desert Highway, an Eagles tribute band, to the town.

East Meadow will welcome Dr. Diamond with Brooklyn Roads Band, a Neil Diamond tribute. The concert is at Speno Park, and the Astronomy Outreach Program from Hofstra will be on hand.

Darlene Prince & the Bragg Hollow Band will be in Levittown at the Acorn Lane Park, then the B-Street Band, a tribute band for Bruce Springsteen, will be in town a few days later.

Seaford will host Barometer Soup, a tribute to Jimmy Buffet, at Seamans Neck Park. West Hempstead will welcome The Liverpool Shuffle, a Beatles tribute band, playing at Echo Park.

Finally, a tribute to Eric Clapton, Bell Bottom Blues, will be at Shell Creek Park in Barnum Island. Concert organizers can use poster printing to create advertising to announce their events.

The Doo-Wop Concert in Merrick is August 9, and Desert Highway performs August 19. Dr. Diamond appears August 6, and Darlene Prince will play August 11. The B-Street Band plays August 17, Barometer Soup on August 12, The Liverpool Shuffle August 13, and the Bell Bottom Blues on August 18. People are advised to bring beach blankets and lawn chairs for comfort.
