Community members in Merrick are getting ready for the town’s biggest celebration in its history this summer when it completes its first century since its founding.
The 100th Anniversary Parade and Block Party will welcome community members and visitors this June for a day of celebration being organized by the North Merrick Fire Department. Organizers are touting it as an opportunity to celebrate a century of service in town while providing an opportunity to support Merrick’s businesses and vendors.
The parade will begin at the Merrick Long Island Railroad station and proceed north on Merrick Avenue before ending at the North Merrick Fire Department Headquarters on Camp Avenue. Interested parties are invited to arrive early and reserve a spot along the parade route. Banner printing can help different organizations and floats participating in parades like this promote themselves and reach attendees in a professional and memorable way.
Following the parade, attendees can enjoy a block party with free food and drinks, including hot dogs and hamburgers. Several food trucks will also be in attendance with additional options. The celebration will be a family-friendly event complete with children’s activities and a bounce house.
The parade and block party are scheduled for Saturday, June 27 starting at 6:00 PM in downtown Merrick. Attendance is free and open to the public, and interested parties can RSVP online.
