What's Happening in Merrick, NY…

Merrick is getting ready to celebrate the nation’s birthday with music, food, and fun.

DJ Strife is the host of the upcoming 21st Annual Drum and Bass BBQ, which features not only great food, but an array of outstanding music artists.

The fun includes DJ Strive himself going back-to-back with Agent 137, which is the first time the two will tag each other, taking turns at creating the mix the audience hears. Every performance will be slightly different.

Also taking part is Ben Soundscape, an electronic music producer who has deliberately kept his personal life private. His origins are unknown, but he burst onto the scene in 2018, using the bass and drum as his primary instruments for expression. His sonic output has become his signature.

Hexpin is a drum and bass DJ and producer from New York. He discusses the six “portals” he uses to communicate: prose, drawing, still image, moving image, performed music, and composed music. His EP “Heart Beats” is on Flight Pattern Records.

Dave Shichman owns Driven AM, a record label, artist management, and production company. Shichman is known for his signature sound that fuses funk and acoustic jazz and has produced over 30 releases on various labels.

The music begins at 12.00 pm on July 4, and the fun continues all day at The Meadow at Cedar Creek Park in Merrick. Events like this benefit from receiving publicity throughout the local area, which organizers can create by distributing information sheets created with flyer printing.
