The 38th annual Queens County Fair is taking place this September in Floral Park.
The fair is a throwback to a traditional county fair, with agricultural and livestock exhibits as well as blue ribbon competitions in skills such as baking, gardening, and animal husbandry.
Guests can also participate in corn husking and pie-eating contests. There will be lots of family-friendly entertainment such as carnival rides, midway games, acrobats, and jugglers. Other activities will include a petting zoo, hayrides, and pony rides. There will be an adopt-a-worm booth as well as a Con Edison ecology booth. The Amazing Maize Maze will be open during the fair.
Food and drink, including local beers, will be available for sale. Arts and craft vendors will also be on hand to sell their handmade items like jewelry and clothing accessories.
This popular annual fair usually attracts people from all over the area, including nearby Merrick. Local flyer printing firms are often asked to provide the advertising to help spread the word about such events.
The Fair will be held at the Queens County Farm Museum from September 12 to 13 from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM each day. Tickets are $10 for adults aged 13 and over and $5 for children, while farm members are admitted free of charge. Some activities may come with an extra charge. Call 718-347-3276 to learn more.
