What's Happening in Merrick, NY…

Jeanette and Ava Cota, stars of reality television, recently stopped by at the Air and Dance Theatre in Merrick.

The stars of ‘Dance Moms’ on Lifetime, worked with about 50 students between the ages of 6 and 17 years old. The artistic director of the studio, Dana DeStefano, had choreographed a dance piece and the Cotas helped the students to learn it.

This workshop was one of several that the studio had hosted. An American Ballet Theatre workshop is still tot ake place this month, and in September, a Broadway dance workshop will be held. The use of flyer printing services would be one way that the studio could inform the community of these upcoming workshops so as to generate enthusiasm for them in the community, and garner attendance.

According to Rory McDonough, owner of Air and Dance, the students are deserving of the best and it is provided for them. Many students had commented on the high educational value of the workshop.

Air and Dance is a pre-professional performing arts school with classes in jazz, tap, musical theater, contemporary dance, and ballet. The goal of the school is to enable students to express themselves through their chosen form of art, such as singing, dance, or acting. Individual instruction is provided in small classes of 10 to 12 students, which enables the faculty to develop personal relationships with students so as to build their poise and self-confidence.
