The Mary’s Cup, a charitable event taking place this month, will include a competitive swim meet and much more.
The Hempstead Golf and Country Club is hosting the afternoon event that will include swimming, relay races, and a live auction. Also included will be games for children and raffle prizes. The ticket price covers all food and drinks for the day. The Hempstead Country Club swim team and the Rockville links are the two teams competing in the swim meet.
Individuals, businesses, or other Merrick or regional organizations that would like to donate something for the event raffles can contact Kathy Paesano at kopaesano@yahoo.com or Jen Minnigan at jjminnigan@aol.com. The items for the raffle can include gift cards, desirable and relevant Promotional Products, or other items of value.
The Mary Ruchalski Foundation has organized this event as a fundraiser and all profits earned from the day will go to the group. The charitable organization uses the funds raised at events like this and through other methods to help increase awareness of pediatric cancer, and to help the patients and families affected by the disease.
The event takes place on Sunday, July 22 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Ticket prices are $25 each for children 13 and under and $50 for adults. Tickets are available on the Eventbrite website. The Hempstead Golf and Country Club is located at 60 Front Street in Hempstead.
