Merrick residents invited to celebrate Irish culture at Hofstra University

This year marks the 20th anniversary of a popular festival that highlights the achievements and contributions of the Irish to the region.

Merrick residents will have a lot to enjoy at the Hofstra Irish Festival, with Irish-inspired food, music, and more available during the duration of the event. There will be numerous refreshments available for purchase, as well as vendors offering gifts and Promotional Products. Live Irish dance and music performances are scheduled throughout the day and plenty of children’s activities available.

Hofstra University is the site of numerous cultural festivals each year. The campus currently celebrates Dutch, Irish, and Italian heritage to highlight the contributions of each of these groups. The festivals are not reserved for people of this heritage but are open to everyone that wishes to learn more about each culture, or just wants to enjoy what they have to offer.

The Hofstra Irish Festival takes place at Hofstra University on March 11 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Tickets are $5 per adult, $4 for seniors, and children under the age of 12 get in free. To attend, visit the Mack Physical Education Center at the North Campus located at 1000 Fulton Avenue in Hempstead.
