A family-friendly festival with a Caribbean flair will be coming to Merrick in a matter of days.
The 2nd Annual Caribbean American Family Day is a celebration of Caribbean American culture with music, food, and vendors. The event is an opportunity for families to come together in Merrick and enjoy a taste of the many traditions that make up the Caribbean diaspora found on Long Island.
The Association of Caribbean Americans of Long Island will be hosting this community-focused event. The goal is to recognize the Long Island region’s Caribbean American communities with colorful displays, music, and flavors. A DJ will perform live music and there will be entertainment throughout the afternoon, according to the event’s organizers. Vendors will be on site with Caribbean-inspired merchandise and food for visitors to browse. Variety and creativity are a hallmark of this type of event, where printing services are sometimes used for themed decorations.
Entry is free and attendees will receive an admission ticket. The organizers have stressed that cash sales or transactions will not be accepted in the area, as all payments will be taken electronically.
The 2nd Annual Caribbean American Family Day will take place this Sunday, July 27 at Merrick Golf Course in Merrick, New York from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm. Anyone looking to sponsor or partner with the event should get in touch with the organizers.
