Baldwin Chamber of Commerce will once again host the area’s annual tree lighting in the coming weeks.
Organizers are billing this event as a fun holiday treat that will give community members in Baldwin and Merrick a chance to get together and celebrate before the holiday. Such occasions are often promoted with the help of poster printing companies.
According to event officials, the event will feature pony rides, free refreshments, and local vendors. The event will conclude will a visit from Santa on a fire truck, speeches from local dignitaries, and the annual tree lighting.
This year, the Chamber is sponsoring Toys for Tots, so attendees are encouraged to bring new toys for children who cannot afford presents if they can.
The event is being held on Sunday, December 3 and will run from 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm. It is taking place at the Baldwin, NY Historical Society, which is located at 1980 Grand Avenue. There is no admission fee, but some of the individual events may charge a small amount, so individuals are encouraged to bring cash to pay for food or pony rides.
