Irish novelist to feature in two upcoming events

Novelist Tom Phelan will be appearing in two activities this week in the towns surrounding Merrick.

When an individual needs publicity for an event, he or she may turn to collaboration with sponsors to use flyer printing, providing more information about the event and generating enthusiasm amongst the public.

At the Freeport Library in the evening of July 23rd, Phelan will appear in ‘Ask the Author’, where attendees can ask him questions about his novels, writing, and publishing. Fans may also ask him where he gets his ideas, or how the title for a book or its cover is selected. He will read selections from some of his Books.

In Oceanside at Summer Gazebo Readings, Schoolhouse Green, on the evening of July 28th, he will participate in an Irish Literacy Night along with author Christine Kehl O'Hagan, storyteller Jim Hawkins, and poet John Brennan. Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or chair, as this event will be held outdoors.

Phelan was born and grew up on a small farm in the midlands of Ireland. His first book, ‘In the Season of the Daisies’, was published by the Lilliput Press in Dublin when he was 50 years old. Since then, he has written five additional novels, moved to New York, and worked for the Garden City Public Schools.
