Hall of fame induction event announced

An event plans to serve as both a celebration of achievement and an opportunity to bring together members of the Long Island lacrosse community in recognition of their shared passion for the game.

The Long Island Metro Lacrosse Foundation has announced its 39th Annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. The event will honor notable figures in lacrosse and celebrate their contributions to the sport.

The evening will begin at 7:00 PM with a buffet dinner reception, providing attendees with an opportunity to connect and share in the camaraderie of the lacrosse community. Following the dinner, the formal induction ceremony will recognize the Class of 2024 Hall of Fame inductees. Corporate Gifts can be presented at events like this.

In addition to the inductions, the ceremony will include the presentation of special awards. Louis J. Acompora will receive the 2025 Long Island Metro Lacrosse Foundation “Whitey Henrickson” Award, which honors significant contributions to lacrosse. The Harvey Cohen 2025 Outstanding Service Award will be presented to Alden Dyckman for his dedicated service to the sport and its community.

Tickets for the ceremony are $175 per person, with a reduced rate of $60 available for children under 12. All tickets must be purchased in advance, as registrations close on January 18, 2025, and no walk-ins will be permitted.

Long Island Metro Lacrosse Foundation will take place on January 25, 2025, at the Long Island Marriott in Uniondale, a few miles north of Merrick.
