The Freeport Library has announced that its will continue to hold its popular Zoom-based “Talking About Literature” series. Its January event will discuss “Mouth to Mouth” by author Antoine Wilson.
“Mouth to Mouth” – one of former President Barack Obama’s recommended Books – discusses the fictional story of Jeff Cook and his interactions with Francis Arsenault, a successful art dealer. The story was extremely popular and won numerous awards in 2022.
Like many, this book discussion series turned to Xoom during the pandemic as a way of keeping library patrons connected during lockdown restrictions. However, organizers have continued to hold this event via the video calling tool, noting that Zoom events give people the ability to participate in community events from the comfort of their own homes, making it a useful option for many living in Merrick and other nearby areas.
Individuals interested in participating in this event can visit the Freeport Library or go to the Library’s website. As noted by the website, the organization offers a range of services in addition to lending out books. These include research assistance, space for meetings, and limited printing services.
