The Fourth Annual Community Walk and Health Fair is coming to Freeport next month. Those who live in Merrick will no doubt want to attend this event, which raises money for the American Diabetes Association.
Freeport Medical Supply, Inc. is the primary sponsor of the event, with additional support from the American Diabetes Association and the Walk to Stop Diabetes. In addition to raising money, the event is designed to increase awareness of the impact of diabetes and spread the word about how eating well and engaging in physical activity can lead to a healthier life.
The event is currently looking for vendors, exhibitors, and other organizations to participate in the fair, as well as businesses and others to contribute monetarily to the event. The goal is to raise $10,000 to be given to the American Diabetes Association so that it can fund research to help save lives, provide free resources that help those affected by diabetes to live well, and provide access to community programs.
The Walk and Health Fair will be held on Sunday, August 28, beginning at 8:00 a.m. and running until 4:00 p.m. The location for the event is on Main Street in Freeport.
