Deadline extension for Be Water Wise!

Liberty, which sponsors 2022 Be Water Wise!, has announced that the deadline for the art contest has been extended.

The contest offers elementary students in Merrick and throughout Long Island the chance to creatively combine art and science to show how important conserving and protecting our water is. Liberty President Chris Alario was quoted on Patch.com as saying:

"Environmental education is the key to water conservation. We are teaching young Long Islanders the importance of water conservation — that the water coming out of the faucets in their homes is a precious resource not to be taken for granted.”

Contests are often promoted with the assistance of a poster printing service.

Akario elaborated saying for K-6 students taking part in the art contest will be a fun way to become educated about the water cycle, conservation, and how important it is to protect our drinking water. He also highlight that the contest is a chance to win prizes and be recognized for their efforts.

The new deadline is June 1, 2022 and entries must be postmarked or received by that date. The judging of the entries will be based on artistic talent, creative vision, demonstrating an understanding of how vital water conservation is, and the ability to communicate that premise. Winners will be chosen by Liberty in June and presented with a gift card. All participants will receive a certificate of recognition and a Liberty water bottle.
