The International Children's Day (ICD) and Art Contest is a yearly event planned and arranged by the Peace Island’s Institute, volunteers, and associates. Presented at Rockville Center, NY, the focus of this child-oriented event is to engage diverse ethnicities and foster an appreciation of their similarities, as well as their differences.
This weekend, children will enjoy face painting, a magic show, free toys, cotton candy, and appearances from Spiderman, Elmo, and clowns.
Among the many goals of ICD is to facilitate a multicultural tolerance, reiterate that all cultural ideals are putative and accepted, and to signify that every culture and ethnicity is welcome and can thrive harmoniously. They also endeavors to boost self-esteem improve and encourages people of all cultures, ethnicities, and belief systems to embrace what sets them apart. Illustrating the depth and vibrancy of the United States and its exclusive cultural elements is another objective of this occasion.
Representatives of the Albanian, Irish, African American, Turkish, and Mexican communities are among the many that will perform at the Madison Theater of Molloy College in Rockville Center—eleven miles from Merrick— this year. Prior to the commencement of this event, those in attendance will be afforded the opportunity to visit the booths, where digital Business Cards will probably be exchanged, and learn about cultural diversity and acceptance. The aromatic and inviting food court is one of the most popular, and a favorite of attendees.
