Calisthenics competition coming to Freeport

Beginner athletes, both male and female, will gather in Freeport to take part in a calisthenics competition next month, focusing on using body weight.

Sure to attract people from nearby Merrick, the competition will feature a one-on-one elimination-style bracket play where athletes will perform the maximum amount of push-ups, bench dips, pull-ups, and squats for males, and assisted push-ups, bench dips, pull-ups, and squats for females, all within one minute for each event. Athletes who qualify in their division will compete in a final challenge where the last exercise performed will be announced on the @skyfitnessinsta Instagram account. The winner of each division will be awarded $200.

This competition will also have vendor booths and merchandise sales from Sky Fitness. There will be a live stream available for those who cannot make it out to compete. Registration for this competition is $20, spectator tickets are $10 online or $15 at the door, and livestream access is $5. Registrations and tickets purchased are refundable up to seven days prior to the event date.

Those who want to compete can sign up by email, direct message, or text message. Space is limited therefore, so registration is recommended. Competition organizers often use Logo Design services to give upcoming tournaments a unique aesthetic.

Sky Fitness will host the First Flight: Beginner Calisthenics Cup on Saturday, July 19 at Cow Meadow Park in Freeport, New York.
