The Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District recently announced that its Super Hero 5K Run and Walk will be held next month.
The student ambassadors in the school district are organizing the run and walk. The theme for the event this year is superheroes, and those who participate are invited to dress up as their favorite.
The cost to register is $20 per person and all proceeds will benefit Plan International. This organization helps to bring clean drinking water to people in developing countries so that men, women, and children will be able to live longer and healthier lives.
According to the assistant superintendent of personnel, Dr. Mara Bollettieri, all six schools in the district will be participating to show their unity through community service.
The school district may be looking to a poster printing company to Print a variety of items that can be distributed and displayed throughout the district to encourage as many people as possible to participate in this event, pointing out that they contribute to a worthwhile cause.
The race will begin and end at the Grand Avenue Middle School and follows a route through Bellmore that also passes the Merrick Avenue Middle School.
