Manhasset research institute receives funds for new facility

A grant in the amount of $10m from the Long Island Investment Fund has been awarded to the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research in Manhasset. These funds will go towards building a new laboratory to support its medical research.

This laboratory will span 40,000 square feet and be a facility for infectious disease and medical research that will be pioneering in nature. There will be two floors with 26 new research labs to increase efforts in research to develop new therapies for obesity, diabetes, cancer, and other conditions that will return life back to those who suffer from such conditions. In addition, 60 research employees and 10 new principal investigators will be hired for the lab, many of whom will require business card printing services.

Dr. Kevin Tracey, CEO and President of the Institutes, said that scientific progress is made every day at the Institutes. Dr. Tracey added that having the proper tools and facilities will enable the Institutes to make even more progress. He expressed his thanks to Empire State Development and the governor for the funding of the new space and added that he is looking forward to continuing their innovative research in medicine that will benefit the communities of Long Island and beyond.

The Feinstein Institutes focuses on bioelectronic medicine, a field that uses technology to read and regulate electrical activity within the nervous system of the body.
