Senior center receives donation for programming

A donation of $50,000 from the Peter & Jeri Dejana Foundation has been given to the Port Washington Adult Activities Center.

The funds will go toward boosting senior services and programs this year, specifically by growing the nutrition program, adding more special events, and offering additional cultural outings. These may be of interest to those seniors in nearby Manhasset.

Local Print shops can help spread the news of such donations and their benefits throughout a town and neighboring communities with Flyers, mailers, and other printed materials.

Upgraded monthly holiday and seasonal luncheons will also be supported by this gift, which will also keep the costs low for lunches, and help in funding kitchen equipment. The funds will also go towards outings for members, interactive gaming systems, and transportation for day trips.

The Center has partnered with the Peter & Jeri Dejana Foundation for many years. The Foundation has helped to make costs more accessible and affordable for seniors. The Peter & Jeri Dejana Foundation is a charitable organization committed to making a positive difference in the lives of people living in Port Washington and nearby towns.

Established in 1961, the Port Washington Adult Activities Center offers exercise and dance classes; painting and other crafts; card and board games; nature and walking hikes; music and other cultural arts programs; and socializing with friends.
