Italian festival to be held in Manhasset area

The Italian Festival will be held for its 45th year at North Hempstead Beach Park in Port Washington next month.

Residents of Manhasset may be interested in this annual event. Poster printing can be used to promote such happenings throughout a town and its neighboring communities.

This event is being hosted by the John Michael Marino Lodge No. 1389, and will feature live entertainment, Italian cuisine, fun for the family, shopping, and fireworks.

Featured will be a wide range of authentic Italian favorite dishes including meatballs, pasta dishes, rice balls, and sausage and peppers, as well as specialty food vendors with other offerings, such as traditional festival fare. There will also be a pastry tent with coffee, fresh cannoli, and hot, freshly made zeppole.

Entertainment will run for all four days of the festival. Thursday will feature a DJ and live karaoke, while Decadia will perform Friday evening. Saturday will offer live music from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., followed by Any Way You Want It later in the evening. Sunday will include an accordion player, an Italian band, and popular music from noon until 9:00 p.m.

Carnival rides will be provided by Blue Sky Amusements and vendor booths offering specialty merchandise, jewelry, unique gifts, and crafts will also be at the festival.

The Italian Festival will run Thursday, September 10 and Friday, September 11 from 6:00 to 11:00 p.m.; Saturday, September 12 from 2:00 to 11:00 p.m.; and Sunday, September 13 from noon to 9:00 p.m.
